spherulocyte
n. [Gr. dim. sphaira, ball; kytos, hollow]
(ARTHROPODA: Insecta)
Ovoid or round hemocytes, variable in size, containing spherules reported to contain neutral or acid mucopolysaccharide, glyco-mucroproteins, lipochrome, trosinase and sulfated sialomucin; see spherule cell.
